I want to ask you a question. Is there a way to get around the BMW Adaptive Driving Assistant system? Despite not having a front camera, my automobile has radar that can identify other vehicles and pedestrians. But it cannot to adjust speed to the car in front of it.

Unfortunately, without the necessary hardware (a front camera in this case), isn't possible to enable the feature you want because such systems rely on all sensors working togehter.

I figured the lack of a front camera might be limiting the system’s capabilities. I guess I'll have to wait for upgrades. Thanks

I'm sure if your BMW doesn’t have a front camera, the radar can't fully adjust speed to the car ahead. There’s no easy way around it, but you could ask a dealer about retrofitting the system. Be careful with any aftermarket mods, though, as they might not work as well or could affect safety.

It seems to have a limited version of the Adaptive Driving Assistant. It's got the radar for vehicles and pedestrians, but no ACC. Too bad, because without the camera and the full ACC system, it won't automatically adjust your speed with the flow of traffic.

Safety should always be the priority! I've learned that it's best to trust the system's intended functionalty. If BMW didn't include adaptive cruise, there's probably a good reason. You could always ask your BMW dealer if there are any software updates or retrofits available, but I wouldn't hold my breath. I've found that dealers are usualy pretty upfront about what the car can and can't do.

Agree, trust the system especially if BMW didn't include that feature a reason. You can ask about updates but they’re usually clear on what the car can do
