I’ve heard about those fancy new power tonneau covers for the R1T! The updated design’s got a beefed-up interior and a fresh spring system to keep things lined up properly - no more annoying misalignment issues (fingers crossed).

Anyone here had theirs swapped out yet? Spill the tea - how’s it holding up?

They should’ve toss on some extended warranties for the working units, so they could keep going until they eventually wear out. But nope, they’re swapping them out too soon, without even touching the ones that are already busted. And the $500 price tag? Seriously? It’s ridiculously low!

$500 ain’t bad compared to aftermarket stuff, but still, it feels like they’re charging a cover-up fee (you know what I mean) for what should’ve been sorted in the first place. And swapping covers that still work? Such a waste - let me use it till it dies!

Anyone else think Rivian’s up to something, or am I just overthinking it?

How is it now? How long did it take for Rivian to do the updates?

I decided to use a soft tonneau cover from EV Sportline as a temporary fix, and I’d be happy if a powered version could eventually take its place after a visit to the service center for installation!

My son's Rivian has the manual tonneau cover, and it's working great. Keeps the pollen out of the truck bed, which is a big plus this spring. I'd be a little nervous about all that pollen getting into the powered cover and causing problems.
